Eat for Free with AirAsia Big Points

This is not affiliated post. My brother has about 18,000 expiring BIG points so he treats me to lunch at Bangsar. We plan to hop around and eat-till-we-drop for free in Bangsar (he got 50,000 points for free. 50,000!). It is a fun and laughter filled this semi-outdoor trip. We get to walk around and sample a dish or a drink at each outlet, like a tourist food hunt. The shops are in close proximity and easily accessible from Bangsar village on a clear bright day.

We started off inside Bangsar Village with Moo Cow. Redeemed a cup of frozen yogurt for 500 points. (RM10.40)

Then we move to LG at Bangsar Village to The Daily Grind for a beef burger (700 points). I am tempted to eat the pancakes too but that will ruin this just-redeem trip. The catch: You could only do one item redemption per place per day. We order one item each place and share.

Next, we head to Wafflemeisters. The waiters here are not familiar with the point redemption but they did accommodate us and we manage to get a vanilla thick shake for 400 points (RM14)

Then we walk to Patissez! The point to dollar conversion is not always 1:1. It cost more to exchange the Freakshake (1100 points for RM23) than the chicken pasta (800 points for RM26). But we wanted drinks. The shake is just normal but the watermelon strawberry popsicle is to kill for.

We wanted to try the rib eye at Maria's Steakhouse but sadly, the kitchen is not open that day.
Finally, we stop at for a margarita pizza at FATTO A MANO. At 700 points, this is the best sharing plate and the perfect ending to this trip.

Overall we are served well, no awkward look from the waitress. I wish we could hop more destinations but we were time constrained.

The exchange value of each point is about RM0.020-RM0.040. If you accumulate these points with Zalora or Lazada purchase that is about 2-4%. If you are a foodie like me, this is better than collecting BCard points. You could also get 250 points for every RM1500 in CIMB Air Asia saver account every quarterly.
